Join our team!

Are you an experienced disability support worker looking for a team that values you? Or do you have a passion for helping others and want to grow in this field?

We’re always looking for dedicated, compassionate individuals who want to make a real difference!

why join us?

  • We are a family-run business with long-term participants and a close-knit team. Relationships matter to us.

  • We hire for the long term. Our participants rely on stable, familiar support workers, and we want staff who are here to stay.

  • We provide paid training, buddy shifts, and work closely with participants and other practitioners to ensure you feel confident and prepared.

  • There’s always room to grow, with opportunities for leadership roles and new positions as you develop.

  • We care about your well-being. We cover the cost of 24/7 anonymous counseling for all staff.cription

  • We support each other! Flexible daytime and nighttime shifts are available.

what’s involved?

  • You’ll help support participants with everyday tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, household routines, prompting, emotional support, and building independence in daily living skills. Every participant is different, so you’ll take the time to understand their routines, preferences, goals, and support needs to provide care that feels personal and empowering.

  • You’ll support participants to get out into the community and enjoy meaningful experiences that build confidence, connection, and independence. This may include attending appointments, going to the gym, shopping, social outings, day trips, recreational activities, or simply helping someone feel comfortable and supported in community settings.

  • You’ll build genuine, long-term relationships with participants and their families through consistency, trust, patience, and understanding. At Isla Care, we believe strong relationships are at the heart of quality support, and the connections you build can make a real and lasting difference in someone’s life.

  • You’ll provide calm, respectful, and person-centred support to participants with complex needs or behaviours of concern. This may involve following behaviour support strategies, helping participants regulate emotions, redirecting behaviours, and creating environments where participants feel safe, understood, and supported without judgement.

  • You’ll work closely alongside directors, support workers, families, therapists, and practitioners to ensure participants receive consistent and high-quality support across all areas of their lives. Clear communication, teamwork, professionalism, and maintaining accurate documentation are all important parts of the role.

  • You’ll take part in regular training, mentoring, team meetings, and one-on-one support with directors to help you continue building your skills and confidence. Whether you’re experienced in the industry or still learning, we’re committed to supporting your personal and professional growth every step of the way.

  • At Isla Care, support goes beyond simply completing tasks. You’ll play an important role in helping participants live a life that feels fulfilling, connected, and empowering. Whether you’re helping someone achieve a goal, try something new, build confidence, or simply feel heard and valued, the work you do will have a genuine impact.

  • Isla Care has been our son's care provider for a number of years now. The level of care provided to him is second to none. Karl and Grace provide a level of genuine care to him, as if he was their own child and they have taken their time to find staff and gone through the process of vetting staff who have the same attitude and high-level of care and genuine concern for their clients. I cannot recommend highly enough, Isla Care, for any parents who needs and is considering engaging somebody to care for their child or adolescent.

Being part of such a dedicated and compassionate team is truly the best and makes it so easy to go to work every day!

who are we looking for?

  • You may already have experience working in disability support, aged care, mental health, youth work, or other support-based roles. We highly value hands-on experience and the understanding, patience, and practical skills that come with it. At Isla Care, we’re looking for people who genuinely care about making a positive difference in the lives of others.

  • We understand that experience comes in many forms. You may have supported a family member or loved one, worked in customer service, education, health, childcare, hospitality, or another people-focused role that has helped you build strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. If you have compassion, emotional intelligence, and the ability to connect with people, we encourage you to apply.

  • We’re looking for people who are reliable, committed, and take pride in showing up consistently for participants and their families. Building trust is such an important part of support work, and participants rely on support workers who are dependable, respectful, and professional in every interaction.

  • You don’t need to know everything on day one. We value people who are open to learning, willing to take feedback onboard, and eager to continue growing both personally and professionally. If you’re passionate about this field and have the right attitude, we’ll support you with ongoing training, mentoring, and guidance along the way.

  • Above all else, we’re looking for people with heart. People who are patient, compassionate, understanding, and genuinely passionate about helping others live meaningful and connected lives. If you’re someone who wants to build real relationships, create positive experiences, and be part of a supportive and values-driven team, we’d love to hear from you.
